Woman Hit, Killed By Vehicle in South Forsyth
The woman, from Cumming, was trying to cross the road on Windermere Parkway when she was hit by a Dodge Caravan, authorities say.

CUMMING, GA β A 71-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday morning in south Forsyth County.
The woman was hit by a Dodge Caravan on Windermere Parkway, near South Forsyth Middle School, as she was trying to cross the street. The incident happened at 6:17 a.m.
Maria Vinci, of Cumming, was pronounced dead at Northside Hospital Forsyth after being transported there by ambulance, said DFC Andrew Ives, a traffic specialist with the sheriff's office.

The 2002 Caravan, driven by Adrian Rowland, 41, of Sugar Hill, was traveling south on Windermere Parkway at the time of the wreck. Rowland saw Vinci in his lane and attempted to steer left while braking, but struck her anyway.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation Thursday afternoon by the Forsyth County Sheriffβs Office Traffic Specialist Unit.
