DHS Volleyball Player Lights Up the Court

Coach Berube tells us about Kimberly "Kimbo" MacIntyre.

According to volleyball coach Jason Berube, Kimberly “Kimbo” MacIntyre is on fire with her motivation and love of the game.

“She has a passion for the sport and a fire that never goes out,” Berube said. “She stays constantly motivated to get better, compete, and win. She keeps her team's spirit up and is focused on the goal of regional champions this year.”

MacIntyre’s senior year should be exciting. She is one of eight seniors on the team who have had four years to learn to play together.

“The goals and expectations are high this year,” Berube said. “This group of seniors has been playing together for four years. Kimbo has her teammates' and coaches' respect. We look at the season as a progression and our goal is to peak, and to play our best in region, so we can compete for that championship and qualify for state.”

Berube has coached MacIntyre for the past four years. He is confident that in nine months, she will go on to excel beyond her high school volleyball years.

“Kimbo is an outstanding young athlete,” he said. “At this time, she has not committed to a college to play volleyball, but without a doubt she'll play at the next level and be a difference maker on that team.”
