Mill Creek Varsity Basketball Team Plays Hard and Plays Smart

Coach Chad Rogers has big expectations for an amazing season.

varsity boys basketball team head coach Chad Rogers has big expectations for this season. He is hoping to make the playoffs and to win the region.

“We are going to try to out work everybody and win with defense first and then offensively,” coach Rogers said. “We plan to play hard and play smart.”

Coach Rogers believes that what goes on in practice is a key factor in winning on game day.

“We are not going to run into anything in the game that we have not run a million times in practice,” Rogers emphasized. “We try to make practice harder than the games. That way, when we get to the games, the kids are prepared and have fun.”

This team works well together both on game day and in practice. The players challenge each other to be the best they can be on the court.

“Competition is the main driver,” Rogers said. “We have a lot of completion in practice. And as coaches we try to get the most out of each player.”

The Mill Creek Hawks have a tough basketball schedule this season, but they will be prepared.

“I tried to put together a very tough schedule to prepare us and get us to the playoffs,” Rogers explained. “We want to go to the playoffs and win the region.”

With such a tough schedule and in such a tough region, every game will be important this season.

“We have respect for every team and every coach. We have to treat everyone the same,” Rogers said. “We are going to have to play hard every game regardless of who comes next on the schedule.”

The team’s success in the games that they have played so far indicates just what kind of team they will be.

“I have been pleased with the way we have won our games so far this season,” Rogers said proudly. “We should be a very tough team to play.”
