This Hebron Basketball Team Is 'Electric'

Coach Ryan Gibadlo says this team has great energy and an amazing ability to work together.

The eighth grade basketball team should be an exciting team to watch over the next few years. According to head coach Ryan Gibadlo, this young team has developed a true team attitude that will help the boys achieve great things on and off the court.

“The overall attitude of the team is electric,” Gibadlo said. “There is something special about this group. Their energy and the way they lift each other up is going to carry them a long way as they grow in this Hebron basketball program.”

Coach Gibadlo’s coaching philosophy focuses on teamwork.

“I hope to see these boys build a foundation for themselves in the HCA program by lifting each other up and defining what it means to be a team both on the court and off,” Gibadlo explained. “Serving each other in any way they can off the court will pay dividends with their chemistry and ability to grow as one on the court.”

Coach Gibadlo says that there are a few players that stand out on the court, but this is a team with a lot of talent and several stars may emerge this season.

“Weston King, Jake Hershman, Nathan Stewart, and Paul Bogdan will be our leading scorers,” Gibadlo said. “Clay Davis will also bring an electric spark to team with his ability to play with high energy and bring fundamentals back in crucial moments. He leads the team in charges taken. He took three charges in one quarter of play when the team needed it more than ever. That being said, the talent level on this team is so deep that anyone could emerge as a leader all the way down to the 14th man on the bench.”

This team has been playing together for a number of years, and they have a chemistry that is rare for their age.

“They know each other’s strengths and are able complement those skills on the floor without thinking about it,” Gibadlo added. “It’s a sixth sense that helps them overcome adversity and build momentum even when shots aren’t falling the way they’d like.”

This is a young team that is just beginning their basketball career at Hebron. They are going to be interesting to watch as they progress through high school.

“I am really looking forward to seeing them not only develop this season, but over the next several years,” Gibadlo said. “They are going to accomplish some special things as they grow together.”

Coach Gibadlo said that the team loves to see a crowd on game days, and is truly thankful for all of their supporters.

“We would love to pack out our gym for every home game,” Gibadlo said. “We are the type of team that feeds off the energy around us. Our guys want to thank their parents for being so present and supportive this year. We also want to give some special thanks to our team mom Arah Huff, mother of Christian Huff, for her tireless effort to serve the boys on this team.”
