Man Charged With Murder In Decatur Shooting Death

Police said Tuesday a dispute led to the Emerald North Drive shooting.

DECATUR, GA — A man died, and another man was arrested, after an early Monday morning shooting in the 3800 block of Emerald North Drive, DeKalb County Police said Tuesday.

When officers arrived around 3 a.m., police said the suspect told officers he and 52-year-old Douglas Grant had an altercation. Police said Grant was shot and killed in the dispute.

Police said Timothy Butler, 47, was arrested and taken to the DeKalb County Jail. According to jail records, Butler was charged on suspicion of felony murder.
