1 Dead, 1 Injured In DeKalb Shooting After Dispute

Police say the man turned the gun on himself after shooting and injuring a woman at a DeKalb County apartment.

DECATUR, GA — A man died by suicide after shooting and injuring a woman Wednesday in the 3500 block of Oakvale Road, DeKalb County Police said.

Police did not identify the man but said he was found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in front of an apartment around 3:30 a.m.

A woman was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the apartment, police said. She was in critical condition when she was taken to a hospital, police said.

They added the man shot the woman during a domestic dispute before fatally turning the gun on himself.

WAGA-TV reported the woman is in her 40s and is a mother to six children. She also has three grandchildren, a family member told the news outlet.

Her status was unknown and a motive was not revealed late Wednesday afternoon.
