The 100 Best Places To Live In Georgia Ranked

DECATUR, GA — Decatur is the best place to live in Georgia, according to a new set of rankings released by Niche. Decatur, along with 73 other Georgia communities, received an A+ grade on Niche’s rankings of best places to live for 2018.

Known for its historic downtown square, Decatur boats a variety of top local restaurants, boutiques, and music venues like Eddie’s Attic, where the Indigo Girls, Sugarland, and John Mayer played in their early days and still drop in to perform. And don't forget it's home to the AJC Decatur Book Festival, the largest independent book festival in the country. The top 100 communities in Georgia received grades of either A+ or A with 74 communities getting an A+ grade, and 26 communities receiving an A grade.

To calculate the rankings and assign grades to communities, Niche looks at factors like the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics and access to amenities. Niche gets its data from government sources like the Department of Education, the FBI and the U.S. Census. You can read more about Niche’s methodology and data sources.
