2 DeKalb Officers Accused Of Selling Accident Reports, Arrested

Two veteran DeKalb police officers were arrested and charged Thursday. They're accused of selling accident reports.

TUCKER, GA — Two DeKalb County police officers were arrested and charged Thursday with computer theft and violating their oath of office, said police. They’re accused of selling thousands of motor vehicle accident reports.

According to investigators, Nikko McClinton and Ronald Anderson, both nine-year veterans of the DeKalb County Police Department, are accused of accessing and selling thousands of motor vehicle accident reports. The officers are accused of selling the reports to “illegal runners,” individuals who solicit clients who could profit from injury or property damage caused by an automobile accident.

“The DeKalb County Police Department will not tolerate officer misconduct and will take proper action to safeguard the privacy of our citizens and enforce the law,” said DeKalb County Police Chief Mirtha Ramos.

Both officers have been placed on administrative leave with pay pending appropriate disciplinary action.

McClinton also faces one count of bribery, according to jail records, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

DeKalb police haven’t shared details on how many police reports the officers are accused of selling or whose hands they ended up in, according to the AJC.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact DeKalb detectives at 770-724-7837.
