2015 GEORGIA YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARDS CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
Celebrating 20 Outstanding Youth Leaders
ATLANTA —Do you know a high school student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills by starting their own business or charity or given back to the community an extraordinary way? 21st Century Leaders (21CL), a non-profit, youth leadership program for Georgia high school students, is accepting nominations for the 7th annual Georgia Youth Leadership Awards.
21st Century Leaders’ Georgia Youth Leaders Awards honors 20 outstanding youth leaders under the age of 20 throughout the state who have made a significant impact on their school or community. Candidates eligible for nomination are any high school aged students, living in Georgia, who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills.
The final 20 award winners are honored, in celebration with National Youth Leadership Month at the Georgia Youth Leadership Awards on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center hosted by CNN Student News Anchor, Carl Azuz. Each awardee will be presented with a $250 mini-grant and specially recognized by Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 Under 40 members.

Once nominations are in, a distinguished panel of professionals and volunteers will thoroughly review each candidate. The top 20 students will be selected and notified in January. Submission deadline is Friday, December 5, 2014. Nominations can be made online at www.21stcenturyleaders.org/for-students/gyla.

Established in 1991, 21st Century Leaders is a non-profit organization that provides a progressive hands-on leadership experience for Georgia high school students connecting students with diverse peers and professionals. 21st Century Leaders’ based in Decatur, GA, offers high school students a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills through year round programs; including week-long summer programs, numerous one-day and weekend events and youth-run student centers at participating high schools.
