PETA Offering $5K Award To Help Police Arrest Suspect In Dog Burning Incident

PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that will help police arrest the person who set a dog on fire in Decatur.

DECATUR, GA — PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for anyone who can help police arrest the person responsible for setting a dog on fire in Decatur last weekend. They will face cruelty charges.

Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta has offered a $2,000 reward, bringing the total potential reward up to $7,000.

A dog was found "engulfed in flames" Sunday, Dec. 5 in Decatur, according to DeKalb County police.

“This dog endured immense pain and terror when someone set him on fire, burning him severely,” said PETA Senior Vice President Colleen O’Brien in a news release. “PETA urges anyone with answers to come forward so that whoever tortured him can be held accountable—and stopped before someone else is hurt.”

The large male tan and cream Labradoodle was seen running along Lindsey Street between 10 a.m. and noon before someone put the flames out, said police.
