6 Men Charged In Fatal Shooting Of Man At Gas Station: Police
Five Decatur men and another man from Covington were arrested after the victim was shot following a dispute at a local Chevron station.

DECATUR, GA — Five Decatur men, along with a fifth man from Covington, have been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a man in his mid-40s at a local gas station over the weekend, police said Monday.
The following people have been arrested in the shooting, which took place at 9 p.m. at the Chevron station in the 2400 block of Candler Road, police said. All were booked into the DeKalb County Jail.
According to jail records, the suspects were charged on the following offenses.

- De’Vonti King, 19, charged with felony murder and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act
- Thavian Ford, 46, Covington, charged with murder-malice and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act
- Bryan Jones, 26, Decatur, charged with abuse of an elder person and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act
- Deavin Baker, 31, Decatur, charged with felony murder and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act
- Derreaun Dodson, 20, Decatur, charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act
- Jamal Braud, 25, Decatur, charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act
DeKalb County Police said Monday the shooting was the result of a dispute between the victim and the five suspects. The victim was taken a local hospital, where he died a short time later, police said. Police have not released the victim's name at this time.
