DECATUR, GA — An officer investigating a suspicious person call was stabbed by a suspect Monday morning in the 2900 block of North Decatur Avenue, DeKalb County Police said.
DKPD was called to the scene about a suspicious man, police said.
During the investigation, police said the suspect stabbed the officer once. The officer then shot the suspect, police said.
The officer suffered a moderate injury and was taken to a hospital, where they were in stable condition, police said.
The suspect was also taken to a hospital, where he was in critical condition. The suspect was not identified.
DKPD requested the Georgia Bureau of Investigation oversee the probe into the shooting.
