• Two Women Charged with Helping Violent Inmates Escape from DeKalb County Jail (justice.gov) — A federal grand jury has indicted two women accused of helping three inmates escape from the DeKalb County Jail in Decatur, where one was being held on a life sentence. Prosecutors say the December 2025 breakout led to a kidnapped Lyft driver and a multistate manhunt, and the new charges underscore ongoing federal and local efforts to hold alleged accomplices accountable.
