Another Water Main Break In DeKalb
The break happened early Friday morning on a 6-inch pipe on Rockbridge Road in Stone Mountain.

DECATUR, GA — Some DeKalb County residents were without water service again Friday morning after a water main broke near Rockbridge Road. The news comes less than two weeks after a massive water main break prompted a countywide boil-water advisory and left some without water for days.
Traffic was disrupted Friday morning near the break, which was at 5802 Rockbridge Rd. in Stone Mountain. DeKalb County crews were at the site working to isolate and repair the break. Work is expected to be complete by Friday afternoon, according to county officials.
It was a 6-inch water main that broke, officials said. They say a 16-inch main and an 8-inch main in the area remain undamaged and are providing water service to most customers in the area. No boil-water advisory had been issued as of Friday morning.

On Wednesday, March 7, there was an early-morning break on a 48-inch transmission main near 5718 Buford Highway in Doraville. The break flooded the highway during that morning's rush hour and had the entire county under a boil-water advisory for about three days.

Schools and government buildings, unable to provide clean water for drinking, cooking and sanitation in many areas, shut down as a result of that break and the advisory.
