Arrest Made In Violent Pinewood Robbery

An arrest warrant for Carlous Bailey had been issued earlier this week, nearly seven months after the restaurant was robbed at gunpoint.

DECATUR, GA — Months after the violent armed robbery of The Pinewood restaurant in Decatur, an arrest has been made.

The Decatur Police Department announced Friday that Carlous, Bailey, 20, turned himself in just days after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Bailey, who was considered armed and dangerous, is charged in the May 25 robbery at The Pinewood on West Ponce de Leon Avenue.

He had been employed briefly at the restaurant before the robbery, police say.

Shortly before midnight that night, two masked men approached a female employee outside the restaurant and aimed a gun at her, forcing her onto her knees, police said.

"She was forced back into the restaurant and placed on the floor," a Decatur police alert said. "Two suspects entered the business and rounded up the additional four victims inside of the restaurant. The victims were placed on the floor with their hands bound and questioned about the whereabouts of cash."
