Art Institute of Atlanta to Close Decatur Campus

The Art Institute of Atlanta - Decatur will be closing its doors as part of a restructuring being carried out by the institute’s parent company.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that Education Management Corp is in the midst of a financial recovery plan which looks to pare down the organization’s debt from $1.5 billion to roughly $400 million. Part of the debt reduction plan calls for the closure of 15 campuses across the country, which will affect up to 200 jobs nationwide.

The Chronicle says that the schools will remain open until the last student currently enrolled graduates.
