Avondale's Easter Egg Hunt and Dog Parade Is Saturday
The quirky annual event runs from 10 a.m. to noon.

AVONDALE ESTATES, GA -- It's Easter. That means it's time for ... a dog parade?
Of course it is, if you're in Avondale Estates.
The city's quirky and beloved annual Easter Egg Hunt and Dog Parade is scheduled for Saturday, March 26, from 10 a.m.-noon.

This year's event will be held at Lake Avondale and the Avondale Community Club, at 59 Lakeshore Dr.
The egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. Children up to age 10 are welcome to participate, for free.

At 10:30, the dog parade steps off at the lake. (For a registration form and list of rules, click here.)
Parade participants are encouraged to dress up in their spring finery, but costumes are not required.
Award categories include Best Costume, Best Owner/Dog Duo, Most Spirited/Enthusiastic, and Best Behaved.
Would-be participants may pre-register for the parade now through 3 p.m. Friday. Check-in and registration begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The first 50 registered participants to check in will receive a goodie bag.
