Beating at DeKalb School Caught on Video
A seventh grade student at Cedar Grove Middle School suffered a broken nose in the fight.

A DeKalb County student was left with a broken nose after a fight in a classroom that was caught on video.
11Alive first aired a video of the fight, in which a 12-year-old seventh grader at Cedar Grove Middle School was attacked by a 14-year-old student, who threw more than 20 punches at the victim.
The victim said the attack came out of nowhere. By the time a teacher broke up the fight, the victim’s shirt was covered in blood.

Soon after it happened, his mother heard this attack was captured on video and was being posted online.
According to the school’s incident report, the fight took place in a suspension room.

A DeKalb schools spokesman released the following statement: “In accordance with federal and state laws, these matters are handled confidentially. The health and safety of all our students is our most important priority.”
