DeKalb Boy, 3, Fatally Shoots Self With Unsecured Gun: Police
Police say the toddler shot himself in the face with the weapon and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
DECATUR, GA — A 3-year-old boy died Saturday morning after police say he shot himself in the face with an unsecured gun in the 2600 block of Habersham Drive.
DeKalb County Police said Monday the fatal shooting happened around 7 a.m. The boy's mother had taken him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Antoine Jordan was accused of leaving the gun unsecured and was arrested in connection with the boy's death. The boy was not identified, and his relation to Jordan is unknown.

He was charged on suspicion of second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children, police said. Jordan was taken to the DeKalb County Jail. Records show he was released Sunday.
