Being Happy. Are you ready to have your feathers ruffled?
Being Happy An article by Graham Sampson from The Avatar® Journal Spring 2007 Volume 21, Issue 1 explores happiness. Avatar is a personal developement course offered worldwide in over 30 languages.

What would make you happy? What makes you unhappy?
How much stress is there in your life? How well do you handle stress? It seems that anyone wanting a life free of stress may well have chosen the wrong planet for this lifetime.
It is widely recognized that stress is a major factor in creating the right environment to attract viruses and bacteria that are seen as symptoms of a disease. Could it be that stress is the underlying cause of depression and other debilitating illnesses? A Japanese study several years ago found that the rate of heart attacks in Japanese executives involved in the export market followed the graph of the rise and fall of the value of the Japanese currency, the yen, on the stock market.
One of the least acknowledged yet most common areas of stress is where a person is adjusting to circumstances and limitations in life and trying to be happy within those limitations rather than going wholeheartedly after his/her dreams. The
self-denial in giving up on your dream will inevitably lead to discouragement
and even depression, no matter how successful you are in any other
venture.
There is a difference between trying to feel good while compromising and retaining the status quo and the feeling of empowerment as you create and experience life according to your own inner determination. When we are using our mental powers to accept life’s circumstances as being that’s how it is or God’s Will we tend to adjust and try to feel good within those limits rather than be really honest and admit that we are unhappy in our powerlessness.
It seems easier to stay in the discomfort of our comfort zone than admit we really want to be doing something different but feel inadequate to do it. Or maybe we don’t really know what it is we want to do. In these circumstances positive thinking becomes a mask to deny the struggle that’s really going on between the pull toward your intuitive sense of purpose and the ego’s need to feel safe and avoid vulnerability.
Being willing to acknowledge that you really want to change is the first step towards empowerment. It opens the path to new possibilities. Doing more of the same as you have done in the past and expecting a different outcome has been described as insanity.
What area of your life would you like to change or improve? Would you like better health? Better communications with family and friends? Greater fulfillment from your career? A new direction? More inner peace and happiness? A means to utilize your hidden potential?
You have the inalienable right to live the life of your choice, guided by your intuition and your true purpose. There’s no need to deny your potential and live through the mediocrity of your perceived limitations which are really your own
creation.
True, this is a little scary. It does require that you become a little vulnerable. It does require that you trust in the guidance of others. This can feel a little risky. However as a friend of mine recently said, “I have never seen anyone get the benefits of a breakthrough regarding debilitating limitations without having their feathers ruffled.”
If you are willing to undertake a guided, step-by-step exploration you can learn to unlock the secrets of your own consciousness. You have the innate capacity to manage the contents of your own mind, eliminate doubts and second thoughts, and take a deliberate path of evolvement where you live according to your inspiration.
It has been said that success is 90% perspiration and 10% inspiration. Another
perspective is that working hard to get where you don’t want to go is a waste of
the perspiration. The inspiration is like the head of the horse. Where the head
goes the feet follow. Why not tap into your true inspiration and let that guide
your actions? Perhaps this is the connection with your intuition that you
seek.
Most people share the goal of making the world a better place. The
old methods of consumerism, domination, control and indoctrination are
encountering increasing resistance. There is a growing realization that a new
approach is essential if we are going to leave the planet habitable for future
generations.
The goal of Avatar is to create an enlightened planetary civilization. Those of us privileged to be at the advanced Avatar experiences know that the goal is realistic, despite its enormity. Anyone who takes greater personal responsibility for their own development and evolution inevitably makes a contribution.
The best gift to your loved ones could be your example in committing to your inspiration. It’s the doorway to personal transformation and empowerment, as well as the path to real happiness that creates a natural inner glow.
Enjoy having your feathers ruffled.
