Marijuana and Prescription Drugs are number 1 and 2 for Abuse in US
Prescription Pain Pill abuse is a top public health priority in the US.

Prescription drug abuse is just behind marijuana as the United States' most widespread drug issue, with 22 million people beginning use of non-medically prescribed pain alleviating drugs since 2002. Rates of abuse span from 3.6% in Iowa to 6.4% in Oregon.
Addressing prescription drug misuse remains a top public health priority. The key is educating the public on the serious health risks involved.

There seems to be a pervasive belief in the United States that there is a pill for every problem and that taking pills comes with very little risk. There is a huge portion of the population that wouldn't think twice about taking a pill that is known to kill 16,000 people a year due to gastro-intestinal bleeding. You know why? Cause that pill is Tylenol and people think it is entirely safe and without risk. Yet, a chunk of the population is scared to try acupuncture or chiropractic care that comes with very little risk.
People are often surprised to hear that I have $3 million dollars worth of mal practice insurance coverage that costs me less than my car insurance. PLease know that Prescription pain medications are very addictive and habit forming and that Chiropractic care is very safe and effective.
