Vote Now: Local Teachers in Running for Thank-a-Teacher Award

Two local teachers from The Museum School of Avondale Estates have been nominated and are in the running for the "Thank-a-Teacher" contest hosted by the Ron Clark Academy and Promethean. The winner receives an all-expense paid trip to attend the Educator Training Program at the Ron Clark Academy.

Second-grade teacher Ginger Holland and Kindergarten teacher Lillian Galicia were recognized for their passion and inspiration, as they encourage their students to think and look at the world differently.

The kicker is that voting is NOW and only goes through Midnight on Monday, May 7! (In short, we only have through EOD Sunday to cast our votes.) The winner will be announced on Tuesday, May 8.

To cast a vote for these deserving educators, please follow these steps:

1. Go to FaceBook. Once there, go to the Ron Clark Academy Fan Page and The Thank-a-Teacher Fan Page Sponsored by Promethean and "LIKE IT" for both of these pages.

2. Next, click on the photos located in the photo album called "2012 Thank a Teacher Nominees" on both fan pages (the Thank-a-Teacher FB page AND The Ron Clark Academy FB page). Each page will contain the nominee's photo and submission essay.

3. Please click the "LIKE" button underneath Mrs. Holland's and Mrs. Galicia's respective photos (NOT the "LIKE" button for the enter contest photo album) AND write a quick comment under each of their photos. Please note that this is what is counted as "A VOTE" for these ladies.

4. Voting ends at 12 A.M. on Monday, May 7.
