Candlelight Vigil in Decatur for People Living With Mental Illness

Street theater will be held before the vigil, organizers say.

The Decatur community is invited to participate in a candlelight vigil this week to honor those who suffer from mental illness.

According to Decatur Metro, the National Alliance on Mental Illness’ (NAMI) DeKalb County chapter will gather in the square at 7 p.m. Friday, with the vigil starting half an hour later. Participants are asked to wear green and to bring a lawn chair to the vigil.

in case of rain, the vigil will move to Holy Trinity Parish at 515 E. Ponce de Leon Ave.
