Higher Calling Christian Academy

Higher Calling Christian Academy (HCCA) is a faith-based learning community located in South DeKalb County dedicated to helping children grow academically, socially, emotionally, and creatively in a safe and nurturing environment. Our Summer Camp 2026 theme, “Choose Your Adventure: A Summer of Discovery at HCCA,” gives families the flexibility to enroll their child for the entire summer or select individual weeks based on their child’s interests. Throughout the summer, campers ages 5–12 will experience engaging, hands-on learning through themed weeks focused on gardening and sustainability, STEAM exploration, sports and teamwork, entrepreneurship, leadership, and creative discovery. Campers will participate in exciting activities including outdoor exploration, science experiments, engineering challenges, team games, creative arts, field trips, and youth business projects. A strong focus of our summer program is literacy and enrichment. Campers will participate in daily reading and enrichment activities designed to strengthen comprehension, creativity, communication, and critical thinking skills. As part of our literacy initiative, campers will visit the local public library twice each week to participate in summer reading opportunities, explore new books, and develop a love for reading and learning. What makes HCCA unique is our commitment to combining fun, enrichment, and purpose in a supportive Christian-centered environment. We strive to support the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of every child while encouraging creativity, confidence, leadership, and exploration. Families appreciate our flexible enrollment options, affordable pricing, extended hours from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., three meals provided daily, and CAPS acceptance. Lourdes' two children were shaken up after the accident, witnesses told the station.According to DeKalb police spokesman S.R. Fore, an officer was driving a patrol car on <a href="https://www.google.com/maps/@33.7355847,-84.2326712,15z" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Glenwood Road near Interstate 285</a> just after 4 p.m. when Lourdes' passenger car pulled out in front of the patrol car. The officer attempted to avoid rear-ending the passenger car, but in so doing left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole. The officer suffered moderate injuries, Fore said; he has since been upgraded to good condition at Grady Memorial Hospital, WSB-TV reports.
