Christmas Tree Collection In DeKalb Starts Tuesday
Curbside collection is free for trees that are seven feet high or less.

DECATUR, GA — Residents in areas that receive DeKalb County sanitation services can start recycling their Christmas trees starting on Tuesday.
The county on Tuesday announced free curbside collection for Christmas trees from Dec. 26-Jan. 12. Trees will be collected on regularly scheduled sanitation collection service days.
To participate, residents must remove all decorations from the trees and place them curbside. Only trees that are seven feet high or less will be accepted.

Trees that can't be trimmed to the required size may be taken to the county's Seminole Road Landfill or collected by the Sanitation Division’s special collection unit (fees may apply).
Collected trees will be recycled and converted to mulch. This service provides an opportunity for residents to dispose of Christmas trees sustainably and free of charge.
