🌱 City Approves Development Of Racial Equity Plan + Sinkhole Repaired

Here are the top three stories in Decatur-Avondale Estates today:
- At its Jun. 6 meeting, the Decatur City Commission approved an agreement with The Common Good Agency to develop a racial equity action plan. "This plan will be developed in partnership with the employee equity and inclusion team and will engage all city employees in order to help the city operationalize racial equity," said Communications Manager Renae Madison. The total cost of the project is estimated to be about $283,000. (Decaturish.com )
- The Atlanta Hawks and State Farm on Thursday unveiled the upgraded youth spaces at the N.H. Scott Recreation Center in Decatur. The upgrades for the "Good Neighbor Club" include new TVs, a projector screen for movie nights, a gaming area, classroom tables for homework assistance, a ping pong table and a reading nook/open play area. Hawks guard Sharife Cooper was present for the opening of the newly-renovated space. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- A section of the road by 2826 Pangborn Road was closed yesterday while crews worked to determine what caused a sinkhole. Temporary repairs to the sinkhole, that was discovered on March 30, were made. (Decaturish.com )
