CNN Films Presents a Special Screening of 'Ivory Tower' at Spelman College

CNN Films will host a special screening of Andrew Rossi's documentary "Ivory Tower" at Spelman College.

CNN Films will host a special screening of Andrew Rossi’s documentary “Ivory Tower” on Nov. 10, 2014 at Spelman College. First premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, the film which asks the central question “is college worth the cost?” also discusses debt, the structure of higher education in America, the salaries of college administrators, the role of educational alternatives such as online courses and much more. The screening will be immediately followed by a discussion between Dr. Cynthia Neal Spence, Faculty Trustee and former dean at Spelman College, Dr. Brian K. Bridges, Vice President of Research and Member Engagement of the United Negro College Fund, Dr. Timothy Renick, Vice President for Enrollment Management at Georgia State University, and Goldie Blumenstyk, Senior Writer at The Chronicle of Higher Education and author of American Higher Education in Crisis? CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield will moderate the discussion. Free and open to the public the film and discussion will be held in Spelman’s Cosby Auditorium Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. The screening will be preceded by a reception at 6 p.m. Please RSVP by Nov. 3 at CNNIVORYTOWERATL@TURNER.COM.
