Commissioners Considering Changes to Tax Code
Business owners behind on their taxes could face citations.

The City Commission will consider changes to Decatur’s tax code at its meeting Monday, Oct. 5, beginning at 7 pm.
According to Decaturish, if the changes are approved, police will be able to issue citations to business owners who are behind on their occupational taxes.
Another change includes a provision that would require lawyers who are late in paying the occupation tax would be reported to the state bar, according to the Decatur-based website.
