Construction Set to Begin on Decatur's First New Hotel Since 1980s

DECATUR, GA — Construction is expected to begin soon on Decatur's first new hotel since the 1980s.

The new Hampton Suites will be located on Clairemont Avenue, according to the AJC's report.

The hotel is being built by Vision Hospitality of Chattanooga, which recently received its land disturbance permit. Construction of the new hotel is expected to take about a year.

The new hotel will include seven stories and a parking deck.

Decatur's last new hotel was the nearby Marriott, which was originally built as a Holiday Inn. The Marriott has about 180 rooms. No word yet on how many rooms the new Hampton will feature.
