CORE Opens its Doors Thursday, April 14 for "Lunchtime in the Studio"
This free program invites the community to enjoy lunch while taking a first look at dance works in progress and meeting the dancers.

CORE, the award-winning contemporary dance organization (www.coredance.org), will open the doors of its Decatur headquarters at noon on Thursday, April 14 for “Lunchtime in the Studio”. This is a free, informal program that invites the community to enjoy a first look at works in progress, meet the dancers, offer feedback and learn about upcoming CORE performances and programs.
At the April 14 event, staff and members of CORE Performance Company will share details of the community program, Dynamic X-Change, which CORE has been conducting since 1992. The program provides safe, constructive, nurturing and creative outlets for people in need of building self-awareness, communication skills, healthy body awareness and movement appreciation. Through the program, participants learn to discuss and interpret experiences through movement. Among the topics addressed by participants over the past two and a half decades are abuse, homelessness, language barriers, refugee status, substance abuse, aging and HIV/AIDS.
“Lunchtime in the Studio” is free, and the first 40 people who RSVP in advance will receive a free lunch courtesy of Jimmy John’s and Starbucks Decatur. CORE Studio is located at 139 Sycamore Street on the Decatur Square, and doors open at 11:45 a.m. RSVP at: www.coredance.org/connects/lunchtime-in-the-studio/
