Decatur Bulldogs May Receive $5K from Atlanta Road Race
The Atlanta Track Club's non-profit charity race will be held next month and is open to runners of all levels.

The Decatur Bulldogs, a group dedicated to supporting student athletes at Decatur High School and Renfroe Middle School, will receive up to $5,000 through the Atlanta 10 Miler’s Adopt a Mile program this October.
Scheduled for Oct. 26 at 7:30 a.m., the second annual Atlanta 10 Miler will raise $50,000 through the Adopt A Mile program for regional nonprofits that share their mission of promoting healthy lifestyle and fitness awareness.
The Decatur Bulldogs are among the ten organizations selected by the Atlanta Track Club based on their work promoting wellness in the Atlanta community

On race day, a panel of judges will score each group’s enthusiasm, number of participants, and cheering zone creativity to decide which will receive the maximum donation of $5,000. As further incentive, a bonus prize of $500 will be awarded at the end of the day to the organization deemed “Best of the Best.”
The race itself is a loop beginning at Atlantic Station and leads runners through the streets of Buckhead. The Atlanta 10 Miler is held alongside American Family Insurance’s Atlanta 5K run, allowing people of any endurance level to participate in the day’s events.
