Decatur Car Dealership Raided by State
JD's Auto Sales is being investigated for reportedly rolling back the odometers on vehicles it sold.

A Decatur car dealer was raided Thursday as state and local authorities allege the business rolled back the odometers on vehicles sold.
Investigators were at JD’s Auto Sales in Decatur and JD’s Auto Sales in Forest Park Thursday. They seized records as they look into charges that some of the odometers may have been rolled back more than 100,000 miles for unknowing customers, Georgia Department of Revenue Investigator Josh Waites told WSB TV.
Officials used dogs to search each car on the lots for drugs, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Agent Richard Trinkwalder with the state department of revenue told the AJC that rolling back a vehicle’s odometer is a misdemeanor that carries a maximum punishment of 12 months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Authorities said cars seized at the Decatur dealership will be stored on the lot in Clayton County. The businesses will be put in control of a receiver.
