Decatur Citgo Shooting Suspect Arrested

The DeKalb Sheriff's office says Hydrick Bernard Holloway was trying to carjack a vehicle at the gas station in Decatur.

DECATUR, GA -- The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office fugitive unit has arrested a man suspected of shooting a woman in January during an attempted carjacking at a Decatur gas station.

Authorities say Hydrick Bernard Holloway, 26, was taken into custody without incident Wednesday at Longdale Park in Decatur by DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies, with assistance from a DeKalb Police helicopter unit.

Several other people at the scene were detained for questioning.

Holloway shot Shelita Nhiquita Sutton as she sat in her BMW in the parking lot of a Citgo gas station on Columbia Drive in Decatur, according to the arrest warrant. Sutton was hospitalized for her injuries and two other vehicles in the parking lot were struck by bullets, police say.

Holloway is charged with felony aggravated assault, robbery and felony criminal attempt. He is being held at the DeKalb County jail.
