Decatur Heroes: 'Amazing Human' Gives Back Weekly

DECATUR, GA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Allison Hughes who nominated fellow volunteer Pam Noud of Decatur:

Relationship to nominee: I know her from The Free Food Commune

Reason for recognition: Pam Noud is an amazing human. She has dedicated her life to rescuing food and providing a weekly food distribution event to help those in need. She has worked so hard to build up this organization. She works around the clock with a big smile on her face.

One thing to know: Pam Noud is so dedicated to the community, to saving food from the landfill, and happily does this day after day, year after year.
