Decatur To Kick Off Clean Energy Initiative With Community Events
Community members will be able to participate in a series of roundtables and engagement opportunities about clean energy.
DECATUR — The City of Decatur announced Tuesday the launch of Clean Energy Decatur, a new initiative to develop the city’s plan for a clean energy future, according to a news release.
The city will kick off a series of outreach and education events from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday to discuss the development of the plan. There will be four virtual events to introduce the Clean Energy Decatur development process, set goals, and gather community input.
City officials said they are committed to protecting its community against the negative impacts of climate change and reducing its contributions to the climate crisis. The Plan will guide those efforts, according to the release.
