Decatur Man Charged With Murder In Killing Of Florida Man

Authorities said the man who died was found in January inside of a crashed car at Creste Drive.

DECATUR, GA — A 21-year-old man was charged Tuesday on suspicion of felony murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a Florida man in January, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

Authorities said Kamren Dakel Pearce, of Decatur, was arrested by the sheriff's office's Fugitive Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service in Conley.

The shooting happened on Jan. 26 at Creste Drive, where 30-year-old Franklin Edwards was found inside of a crashed car. Edwards was from Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

A motive was not identified in the shooting.

Pearce was accused of having multiple guns at the time of his arrest. Authorities said he was taken to the DeKalb County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
