Decatur Man Hurt, Passenger Killed In July 4 Crash
The car flew off the road, started to flip and struck a tree, which penetrated the passenger compartment, police said.

MARIETTA, GA — A man from Decatur was seriously injured and his passenger was killed when their car went off the road and flipped into a tree in Cobb County.
The crash happened on C.H. James Parkway east of Florence Road in Powder Springs at about 1:37 p.m. on Wednesday. Cobb County Police say Evans Nyasimi, 48, of Decatur, was driving a 2008 Hyundai Elantra west when, for unknown reasons, the car flew off the right side of the road while traveling around a curve.
Nyasimi tried to get back onto the road and over-corrected, police say. The Hyundai flew off of the left side of the road and began to flip. Its roof collided with a pine tree, which penetrated the passenger compartment, according to police.
