Decatur Man Shot By Lithonia Officer Charged; GBI Investigating
The man's injuries were not life-threatening, and no officers were injured in the Sunday shooting, authorities said.
DECATUR , GA — A man was shot by a Lithonia police officer, and the GBI is investigating the case, the agency said Tuesday.
According to DeKalb County jail records, the shooting happened Sunday.
A Lithonia officer was working an off-duty job around 1:15 a.m. near Wilkins Road and Wilkins Station Drive, where two men wearing ski masks were shooting at each other in the road, according to the GBI.

The officer gave commands, then fired his gun and shot one of the men, according to the GBI. The man's injuries were not life-threatening, the GBI said.
No officers were injured, the GBI said.

A gun tossed by one of the men was located in a nearby shrubbery, the GBI said.
The man that was shot by the officer was identified by the GBI as Orlando Akaiba Hall, 20, of Decatur. According to jail records, Hall was charged on suspicion of one count of aggravated assault.
The second man ran into the woods during the shooting and has not been found, the GBI said.
