According to the latest City of Decatur Focus magazine, the yoga studio on E. Howard Avenue is offering a Mother’s Day meditation event from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 9. Apart from getting the missus away from her hectic schedule for a few hours, the event will also offer henna art and storytelling.
“In ancient traditions myth and legend were used to help integrate life changing experiences into a new understanding of the self,” Solstice wrote on its Facebook event page.

”Important ceremony and ritual marked the birth of mother and child as well as provided a common thread linking us all. We will listen to a story and talk about what we can learn from the our ancestors’ narrative and how we might incorporate greater meaning into our lives as modern mothers.”
Pre-registration is encouraged for this event; it costs $25 and may be completed online.
