ICYMI: Decatur Named Best Suburb in Georgia
Niche.com's rankings take into account such factors as crime, quality of education and access to amenities.

DECATUR, GA -- If you live in Decatur, Niche.com says you couldn't have picked a better spot.
The website has named Decatur No. 1 on its 2016 list of Best Suburbs To Live in Georgia.
For its list, the site used data compiled by sources such as the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI, Bureau of Labor Statistics and others.

It also took into account several factors when it considers adding cities to its list, including how local schools perform, crime rates, housing trends, employment rates and access to amenities.
The list assigns a letter grade to each suburb in 13 categories. Decatur earned either an A or A+ in the following: Education, Public Schools, Diversity, Health and Fitness, Nightlife, Shortest Commute and Family Amenities.

Decatur's lowest grades were a C for Cost of Living and a C+ for Real Estate.
Rounding out the Top 10 on Niche's list are Big Creek Township, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Northeast Cobb, Smyrna, Roswell, Milton, Vinings and Mableton.
North Decatur, which was analyzed separately from the city, came in at No. 13 on the list.
North Druid Hills was No. 20 and Tucker was No. 25.
