Decatur Residents Over 70 Get a Break on Sanitation Fees

The Decatur city commission has approved a waiver of sanitation and stormwater fees for homeowners over 70 who qualify for homestead exemptions.
The AJC is reporting the commission approved the waivers during its meeting Monday night.
The move is expected to cost the city about $300,000 in revenue each year.

In August, the school board approved giving full exemptions from the school tax millage for homeowners age 65 and over.
