Decatur restaurants and personnel earned some high honors in the recently released Eater Atlanta 2015 awards.

Cakes & Ale won Best Wine Program. According to Eater, “The list is deep and diverse with a nod to old-world, smaller-production wines. You’ll find ever-changing by-the-glass choices that range from rarities like Spatburbgunder (think German Pinot Noir) to smart Chinon from the Loire Valley and sparkling Cremant de Bourgogne.”

Revival -- which opened in July at the old Harbour House Pub -- was recognized for being “So Hot Right Now.”

“Kevin Gillespie ... and executive chef Andreas Müller set out with a clear goal in mind: remind diners of their own grandmothers’ cooking. Turns out, the fried chicken, cornbread, mac and cheese, and deviled ham tea sandwiches might make a lot of grandmothers jealous,” the publication wrote. And the prices are reasonable.

Julian Goglia won “Bartender of the Year.“

“Not only does he own and run the successful bar program at Decatur’s popular neighborhood spot, The Pinewood, but this year saw Goglia mixing cocktails at the James Beard House in New York City and announcing plans for his second venture, The Mercury, slated to open soon at Ponce City Market,” according to Eater.
