Decatur Seeks Input on McKoy Skate Park Changes
The skate park has been in Decatur since 2003.

DECATUR, GA -- Decatur is in the process of planning improvements at McKoy Skate Park, and the city is asking for the public’s input.
The park, one of only two skate parks inside the I-285 perimeter in metro Atlanta, has been around since 2003, sponsored by Decatur Active Living, KaBoom and Home Depot.
The city added a few concrete pieces in 2008, but the park hasn’t seen much in the way of a major change since then.

The city is asking skaters and others who use the park, on McKoy Street south of Agnes Scott College, for input.
“We have a limited budget for this renovation, but would also like to have further conversations about future projects to make this skate park a destination for skaters, families and the community,” city spokeswoman Cheryl Burnette said in a post on the Be Active Decatur blog.

Input can be sent to Gregory White at greg.white@decaturga.com or by phone at (678) 553-6543.
A public meeting at the park is scheduled for Saturday, March 19 at noon. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will move to the McKoy Park Pavilion.
