Decatur Siren Test Coming Thursday

The test was postponed Wednesday because of actual storm activity in the area.

DECATUR, GA -- Decatur siren tests planned for Wednesday were postponed because of severe thunderstorm activity in the area.

The testing now will be done Thursday at 5 p.m.

So when the city's series of outdoor sirens start blaring around that time, know that it's only a test.

The siren test should last about one minute.

The four sirens in Decatur are located at Glennwood Elementary, Oakhurst Elementary, Winnona Park Elementary and the Westchester Elementary.

The city also has access to the siren at Agnes Scott College for use during tornadoes or other extreme weather events.
