Decatur Week Ahead Weather: Storms Will Subside

DECATUR, GA — The weather for rest of the week will be quite different from Monday, according to the National Weather Service's forecast. Monday, we can expect to see storms before the afternoon with high wind gusts and potentially heavy rainfall.

Starting Tuesday, though, the forecast reads sunny and clear throughout the week. We'll see high temperatures ranging from 58 to 70 and lows dropping down to 42 on Wednesday night.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook lasting through Monday, warning of the possibility of potentially severe thunderstorms. The storms are expected to include strong gusts up to 35 miles per hour, which may knock power lines down.

Today: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 3pm, then a chance of showers. High near 70. South wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 65. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 43. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 58. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 42.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 66.

Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 47.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 69.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 48.
