Decatur's Brown Re-elected to Transportation Board
The architect is a 10-year veteran of the board.

DECATUR, GA -- Robert Brown, of Decatur, was re-elected to the state transportation board on Wednesday.
Brown, a 10-year board veteran and current vice chairman, was selected by a caucus of state representatives and senators from the 4th Congressional District, which includes all or parts of DeKalb, Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale counties.
His new term begins April 16.

“Serving on the State Transportation Board for the last decade has been an honor and I am pleased to continue in that capacity,” Brown said in a news release. “This is an especially exciting time for transportation in Georgia. The state funding resulting from the Transportation Funding Act will provide GDOT with sustainable revenue to allow us to improve and maintain Georgia’s road and bridge infrastructure, and to advance transportation throughout the state.”
A Dublin native and graduate of Tuskegee University, Brown is a registered architect and president and CEO of R.L. Brown & Associates.

He is active in community and civic organizations including the American Institute of Architects; Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education; Southern Polytechnic State University and Georgia Perimeter College Foundation boards; Agnes Scott College Board of Trustees; and Smart Start Georgia.
He is a member of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Decatur Business Association.
