Decatur's First Waffle House Almost Ready to Open

The iconic restaurant chain will be opening underneath Eddie's Attic.

The city of Decatur’s first Waffle House is on track to open later this fall.

According to the AJC, the 4,600-square-foot restaurant will open underneath Eddie’s Attic in an early 20th-century building that formerly housed a Belk’s department store.

The very first Waffle House opened 60 years ago this month in Avondale Estates.

The company’s second restaurant was a walk-up at 10th Street and Peachtree Street, which opened in 1957.
