Decatur's New 3-4-5 Elementary School Needs A Name

City Schools of Decatur wants the public's input and suggestions when naming the new Talley Street school.

DECATUR, GA --City Schools of Decatur is seeking name proposals for the new 3-4-5 upper elementary school at Talley Street opening in 2019. The board of education will be presented with three naming requests at its meeting on December 11, 2018. One will present names for the new upper elementary school on Talley Street, the second will be a request to name the central office the "Elizabeth Wilson School Support Center," and the third will be a request to update the name of F.AVE to "Fifth Avenue Upper Elementary School."

Proposals will only be accepted from City of Decatur residents and City Schools of Decatur employees and students. Proposals are due by Friday, November 9, 2018, and must include all information requested in the form.

Depending on the number of proposals submitted, the district Administrative Council will narrow the proposals to a reasonable number of options to share with the community to determine preferences. The top proposals (no more than 5) will go to the board for discussion, deliberation, and selection.
