DeKalb Commissioner Wants To Eliminate Marijuana Testing For Some County Employees
Commissioner Ted Terry said the mandatory marijuana testing is an outdated policy not current with the new laws across the country.
DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A DeKalb County Commissioner wants to eliminate the mandatory marijuana drug testing for some county employee applicants, reported WAGA-TV.
Commissioner Ted Terry said there are nationwide changes in marijuana laws and the county is lagging behind with its policies by requiring a drug test for new hires.
His proposal would mainly apply to clerical or desk positions, not police, firefighters, or anyone who drives large trucks, he told WAGA-TV.
