DeKalb County Man Charged With Murder In Shooting Of Hiram Man

DECATUR, GA β€” A 24-year-old DeKalb County man faces murder charges after police said he shot a Hiram man inside a Decatur business on Wednesday.

Police arrested Jadir Woods, who remains in custody in the DeKalb County Jail, on Thursday after the shooting at 1:58 p.m. on Wednesday in the 2600 block of East College Avenue, Decatur police Capt. Jennifer Ross said Thursday.

The shooting took place after police said Woods and Timothy Wilson, 46, were involved in an altercation as one was entering the driveway of the business and the other was leaving. Ross said Woods left the business and Wilson entered the building.

Woods then returned, police said, entered the business and shot Wilson before he left. Wilson was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators collected evidence at the scene and determined Woods had been involved in the shooting. He was later arrested and charged with murder.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, DeKalb County Police and Georgia State Patrol assisted Decatur Police with the investigation.
